Name of Project: Arm und Reich – Eine Ausstellung über ein ungleiches Verhältnis

Description of Project: The concept for the ”Arm und Reich” exhibition was developed as a semester project at the FH Joanneum Graz, University of Applied Sciences. Although there is sufficient wealth in Austria, poverty remains widespread. According to the poverty report (Statistics Austria, EU-SILC 2018), 1,512,000 people or 17.5% of the population in Austria were at risk of poverty or exclusion in 2018. According to the European definition, persons at low equivalised income are at risk of poverty (weighted per capita income is calculated from annual household income, including earnings from work as well as pensions, social benefits, maintenance payments and capital income received in the course of a year). The triangle, with a few rich people at the top and a lot of poor people on the ground, became the basic concept of this exhibition. Those poor who struggle to survive look up to the rich, the rich look down. Perhaps one day it would be possible that the triangle will turn upside down!
